Founded in 1994 and awarded the University title in 2016, The Education University of Hong Kong(EdUHK) is a publicly funded university dedicated to the advancement of learning and teaching, througha diverse offering of academic and research programmes up to doctoral level in teacher education andcomplementary disciplines, such as the social sciences and humanities. The University aspires to furtherenhance its role as a leading university in the Asia Pacific region and beyond, with a focus on educationalresearch, development and innovation and recognized for its excellence in nurturing outstanding andcaring professionals as well as the impact of scholarship.The University has an academic/teaching staff strength of about 450 and total student headcount of about11,000. Chair Professors / Professors / Associate Professors

The University is seeking to appoint senior academics who are creative, future-oriented with a passion fortheir work and a willingness to lead teams of bright and young academics towards successful careers andmaking a positive impact in their communities.Applicants for Professorship are expected to have a strong publication record, leadership experience, aninternational reputation and network, and the ability to contribute to collaborative research; applicants forAssociate Professorship should be able to demonstrate potential for leadership in research, teaching andservice. Some track records of administrative experiences are appreciated. Candidates will be expectedto participate in administrative leadership, to secure external funding, to contribute to the strategicdevelopment of academic programmes and associated student practicums, to serve the profession at large,and to teach effectively within the university. Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in Chinese Language or a related discipline. The candidatesshould preferably have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Chinese Language Education;Teaching Chinese as a Second or Foreign Language; and Chinese Linguistics.Department of English Language EducationEnglish Language Studies (Ref : CPP/ELE/0219)Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in English Language or a related discipline. The candidatesshould preferably have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Teaching English as a second orforeign language; English Language Education; English as a medium of instruction; Language-ineducation policy; and e-English.Department of Linguistics and Modern Language StudiesLinguistics (Ref : CPP/LML/0219)Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in Linguistics or a related discipline. The candidates shouldpreferably have expertise in one or more of the following areas: second language acquisition; grammarand discourse studies; sociolinguistics; world Englishes; and corpus linguistics.Department of Literature and Cultural StudiesLiterature and Cultural Studies, Post 1 (Ref : CPP/LCS/0219)Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in literary studies, cultural studies, or another humanitiesdiscipline. Applicants’ professional experience and research expertise should be in one or more of thefollowing areas: world literature, comparative literature, literature and translation, film and media studies,visual and popular culture.The Department particularly welcomes candidates with a demonstrated investment in the role of thehumanities inside and outside the university, and who wish to invest in impactful knowledge transfer andcommunity outreach.Chinese Literature and Cultural Studies, Post 2 (Ref : CPP/LCS/0219)Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in literary studies or a related humanities discipline. Applicants’professional experience and research expertise should be in classical, modern, and/or contemporaryChinese literature and culture, and their areas of interest should complement the Department’s existingstrengths in classical Chinese literature and modern Sinophone literature and culture.
